On a 2-hectare site, divided by slopes, plateaus and various sporting clubs, this project looks at introducing accommodation and a sporting hall to the Mt Tamborine site. Through careful and detailed site analysis, it became clear that the site as a whole needed to become connected and made walkable. This was achieved through finding a path across the site that flows with the contours while allowing the sporting fields to operate as normal. This path was defined with landscape interventions that complemented the slopes and plateaus while providing the appropriate shading, seating and circulation that was needed. The scale of the site and the qualities of the landscape interventions meant that the site could be developed in a series of phases, allowing realistic funding options for the Tamborine community.
